Manna No More

MANNA NO MORE

“ and the manna ceased on the day after they ate of the produce of the land; and the Israelites had manna no more; but they ate of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.” – Joshua 5:12.

As I was reading this scripture the phrase, “And the manna ceased on the day after they ate of the produce of the land” really captured me. I thought of it in a completely different direction. I thought about faith and bondage. I think often, God is waiting for us to take hold of the produce in the land, faith or a new season of living in order to let go of the manna (baby faith, old habits and bondage).

We need to have the type of trust in God that shows we believe we already have the produce of the land. That we are already free, even amid process. As we grasp onto that faith, the baby faith (manna) melts away. Because the other part of that verse “while they ate the produce of the land (the promise) the manna ceased to exist” (lack of “And the manna ceased on the day after they ate of the produce of the land; and the Israelites had faith, old sin and bondage”).

You see we need to live as though we already are eating the produce of the land of God. We need to believe Him and have bold faith to walk into the freedom he has for us. Do not let your process and destination keep you from the produce of the land. Because the truth is, the produce has been there all along. The minute Jesus died and hung on that cross we had full access to it. His blood paid the price for our freedom. His love for us called us out of darkness and into his marvelous, wonderful light.

God is waiting for us to drop the manna and grab onto the produce of the land. Then watch as the manna is no more. Watch as bondage is no more and the struggles of sin cease to exist because we looked upon the promise of Jesus. We have a good Father that loves us! So let’s believe and have the faith that is bold enough to let go of the old and receive the new for our life.
