Not Me, But Him

Following Jesus, serving His church, and sharing the Gospel with the world is a tremendous joy and honor. I confess I haven’t always seen it this way, but the longer I walk with Him, and the more opportunities I have to serve and share; this honor I have been given becomes more clear to me.

I have also learned how a sneaky shift can take place.  A slippery slope moving from me allowing God to use my life as He desires to bless and lead people, into me attempting to bless and lead people by my own wisdom and strength.

No surprise here, but the version where it’s Him… is way better, for everyone.

If you look at the whole of Scripture, there is a very clear theme and message from God to people, “I want to be with you!”  Believing and leaning into His message helps us so much with this. It is certainly helping me.

God is not sending me off on my own to go help people, because He wants to be with me.

God is not asking me to offer others “me”, as their help for their life; “He” wants to be with them.

My friends; follow Jesus and spend time with Him. Spend time praying without speaking, Choose, instead, to listen. Spend time in the Word, not in order to learn stuff, but to learn about Him, His heart, and His way. It’s an honor to follow Him. In our following, He’ll direct us to serve and help others, and that is a joy! In order for that joy to come in the fullness it is meant to, I need to understand it only happens when I’m with Him and offering Him. I encourage you to remain in and lean into this truth. It’s a real joy and an honor.

Love you church!
